Wade To Debut 25th Anniversary Air Jordan

Miami Heat superstar guard Dwyane Wade has won many honors for his stellar play for the Heat, but it's an off-the-court honor he may just be the most proud of. After years of pleading to join the Jordan brand family at Nike, his persistence is being rewarded in a big way as he will debut the 25th anniversary Air Jordan in February of 2010.

Michael Jordan hand-picked Wade to wear the shoes which will carry a retail price of $170. The shoe will be launched nationwide on February 13, which is just four days before Michael Jordan's 47th birthday. Still, Jordan isn't afraid to remind Wade that he's still the boss, and possibly the better player.

"He thinks he can beat me; I know I can beat him," Jordan said, smiling. "The only way to find out is to put these shoes on and go out and play. He's wearing my shoe. I'm not wearing Dwyane Wade's shoe."

Jordan Brand spokeswoman Terri Hines said Wade is the first pitchman for the Air Jordan other than Jordan himself.
